If you're coming to the party, you can donate to a very worthy Chicago organization called Open Door Youth Shelter. Since Hunger Games involve young people trying to survive, we felt the party could help young people in Chicago who are trying to survive. More info will be available. Coming to the Party? Be sure to check out Winberie's Restaurant next door. They have created a Hunger Games inspired menu with the help of our teen interns. For instance, District 12 Fowl will be grilled over tan open wood fire, served with Katniss greens, Forest potatoes with a wild cherry sauce. And how about some Appalatian River Fish served with wild Katniss greens served on a burning plank with a citrus sauce. Getting hungry yet? Make your dinner reservations today!

Pirate Party!
Sunday, Sept. 19, 1 pm

We have to celebrate Talk Like a Pirate Day, eiee matey. Games, pirate stories and good walkin' the plank fun awaits all.

A very special guest appearance will be made by buccaneer Carolyn Crimi. Carolyn knows about talking like a pirate and even reading like one so she will demonstrate when she reads her book Henry and the Buccaneer Bunnies.

Justin Somper, Vampirates Author Visit

Magic Tree is happy to once again welcome Justin Somper to Oak Park on Tuesday, Sept. 28 for an evening presentation and signing. His latest Vampirates book, Empire of Night is scheduled to be released late August.

Justin Somper is a bestselling author in the UK. His Vampirates books have received international acclaim and have been published in over 20 languages. He lives in London.
